My contributions

I worked on Tropical Trouble as a Gameplay Designer and as a Level Designer.

Most of my work was fulfilled on establishing the 3Cs ( Camera, Character & Control ) of the vehicle and exploring gameplay systems. Additionally, I designed our main level, Ruin Rush. For this, I used rational-level design practices such as paintovers, node maps, sketches and blockouts.

Vehicle and gamemode

First vehicle prototype to test and establish vehicle 3Cs.

Created controllable vehicle using Unreal Chaos Physics vehicle with drift-boost mechanic.

  • Established vehicle & camera with prototyping and iterations

  • Experimented with Unreal Engine (chaos) physics vehicle to find optimal vehicle feel.

  • Created a racing game mode that tracks laps and time.

  • Created a save and load system for the data saved in the game mode.

  • Made a functionality where players can earn medals depending on the race times.

  • Added dynamic camera effects to the vehicle while boosting for added juice.

Created camera boost effect.

Eventual vehicle result.
